Hello, does anyone know where I can hunt pigs in San Diego? Has anyone seen some out there recently? Please let me know thanks
Yep its a stupid cost for an invasive species. Welcome to the california economy. Used to be a hunt back in the day on quality ranch was $650 dressed and in the cooler with room and board, not so much anymore. Its dumb unless you want someone to take you to pig and say to you shoot. Just stupid... sport hunting pigs in Cali is over unless you are jonesing and can afford stupid pricesWhat Snake Charmer. But ,so you'll know ahead of time, the price of pig hunting in central Ca. is going up damn near daily.
The last hunt I went on was $1500, that included a nice 4 bedroom house to stay in for two nights. everything you need except food is include. a real nice older house. Then you have the processing fee if you don't want to do it yourself. Mine have always been successful, as it was for my friend, and grandson. I tried fro a couple years without a guide, but was real limited in the areas I had to hunt, so I went with a guide.Yep its a stupid cost for an invasive species. Welcome to the california economy. +1 on everything Snake Charmer stated. And of course, BLM land. You can hunt them on any part of the national forest or private land you can get permission for, one catch you won't find any. They were virtually wiped out many years ago by professional hunters hired by the Feds. They may be a few left but not much. If you want a pig hire a guide for private land hunting in central California.
I've seen them personally, and was very close to a shot opportunity a couple of different outings. We had game cams out in various areas of the county and have many pics. They were surprisingly spread out. When they were prevalent we put a lot of time over a couple of years. Just didn't get lucky. A buddy of mine saw one a couple of years ago so there are a few around. Most got wiped out like Snake Charmer stated.I like some of you dreamers. No pigs in San Diego County. Unless some farmer is pen raising for slaughter. Lol
The manager at VID who lives at the lake had told me that the 34 were trapped and when they tried to get them processed it became a problem with finding and securing the processing.34 were killed in one night near Lake Henshaw...Haven't seen one since...Reports from down south are, the last big boar was killed a couple years back near Pine Valley.........
ps...Don't waste your time hunting pigs in SD Co...Take out a home loan and guided hunt with Hatchet1.........![]()
