LOL so trueFrom the reviews I'm reading here it sounds like Mossberg might not be a good choice coming from a guy who has never owned one but has been a gun owner for over forty five years. If your gun doesn't go bang and eject every time it's no bueno. I have owned both Browning and Remington pump's the Browning bottom eject is the best pump I have ever shot as far as pump's go and never ever had a problem with them. (John Browning designed them so that's a no brainer), Personally for heavy duty water fowling semi auto's are your best choice. These days because I'm an old guy the last twelve years I shoot a side by side Berreta silver hawk just because it feel's cool to me and they are so traditional to the sport, Just saying... BTW IMO Beretta make's the best shotguns in the world and I'll argue that any day of the week. I own two Bennelli super 90's and they are great and super reliable but they spank you when you shoot them multiple times in close succession Never felt the need for a Bennelli super black eagle because I never felt the need for a 3 1/2 inch gun. Opinion's are like a-holes every one has one.....
Very well said DrewI have used and abused an M500 for the last 12 years. I would wager to say that I have put more rounds that gun than 90% of hunters in that time frame. Never had an issue. If it wasn’t a good gun the Navy wouldn’t have used it as their go to for decades. I clean it maybe once a year and never have an extraction issue and never have had a firing pin issue. To each their own but I know I am sold on it being the most reliable shotgun available. It’s a workhorse through and through. The dual extractors are one of my favorite parts. I have never had an extraction issue once you made a good choice and this is coming from a guy who has put the M500 through the wringer.
Bought that Franchi 20 Gauge for my daughter, she loves it.Benelli is great but I didn't want to spend $1400 Fazul each for me and me son so I bought a poor man's Benelli: a Franchi Affinity in 20 ga. Hopefully, I will get me some birds this weekend with it.
Love my 12G Franchi Affinity.Bought that Franchi 20 Gauge for my daughter, she loves it.
U thought of picking up a lightweight 20 O/U? I've been looking at the Franchi Instinct, CZ Upland Ultralight, and Stevens 555 Enhanced for quail, rabbit and dove.my Beretta silver pigeon 12 ga was getting banged up after 20 years of chukar and quail and its too heavy for all day hunts at 4000 ft.
