Absolutely a Must.
To start I have had my first dog Cali run through Fred’s avoidance training when I got her years ago and I can say it absolutely works. She stayed very much aware of rattlers through out her life on one training session with Fred and his team when she was a young pup.
I have a new puppy named goose, she is 14 months and a fire cracker, she has hunted a season already and thankfully never came across a buzz worm, we all think highly of a our dogs and will always in the back of our heads think our dogs are the smartest and would avoid the buzz worms naturally. I’m glad Fred held a class with my local NAVHDA chapter that was open to the public.
Goose was not as smart as I thought lol, she got “bit” 3 times and a 4th time on the shed skins for good measure. The first snake goose walked right up to it and touched the snakes face with her nose…. On her second pass through the snakes Goose wanted nothing to do with the sight, smell or noise of these snakes and I am externally confident Goose will avoid and snakes she smells, hears or smells. Thank you Fred. I did not take photos or video out of respect for the process and Fred's system.
It had been 10 years since the last snake training I had gone to and with out a doubt Fred to top notch, first thing first he spent some time walking me through the process and was externally thorough with what he was looking for out of the dog and the corrections he was gonna make if he saw what was curiosity or drive to get close. Fred also spent time with me after the training
to answer any questions I had along with advice for me to refresh goose’s training before hunting season as to make sure all the avoidance training sticks. I will be at high on kennels in September no doubt.
If anyone is interested in this and have questions please get a hold of Fred or me as I will answer what I can and direct you to Fred. this man can give your dog the instincts to avoid these snakes and save its life and a costly vet bill.
Once again thanks Fred!
