SoCal Deer with ticks.

A buddy of mine told me he once killed a deer, put it on his back to carry it to the car. When he got home, he had some ticks on him and they also ended up in his car.

If you decide to carry the deer, how do you get rid of the ticks before you carry it?

2 options or maybe 3 which I don't like unless no other way.
#1 skin it, debone on the spot.
Or
#2 drag it , to a near by tree, after it's gutted, skin and quarter it
it before putting in vehicle,
Or
Spray the outer skin.
But I don't recommend this.

You can't get rid of them in a timely manner. Take it apart in the field or use a truck to transport it if you insist on doing it at home.

My Silverado 2500 extended bed should do...

With hunting cart or in truck bed .

Drag to truck (maybe a 100 yds)...Spray the $hit out of bed with Raid...Get home...Hang buck from the hanging tree...Spray the $hit out of it's head and bod...Skin...Keep Trigger away...lol

Rear basket attached to the trailer hit. Throw on the roof or in the basket hitch.
Cover it with a tarp..
And let the guy behind dogging you down the road worry about the ticks flying lol.

As soon deer die and body is cold you start looking ticks going to deer head, the Raid was good idea , I have that problem years before I have a jeep so I need to kill all thicks onmy car after hunt, now with a truck is going to be much better.

Why not spray with Permethrin or Picardin (not sure I spelled those correctly) instead of Raid? Relatively non-toxic and they both kill ticks.
