Some bunnies died today

Is that a 12gauge? Where do you point that thing so you don’t obliterate them?

if closer than 25 yards aim for the head, other wise any where, i like to use # 5 or 6 shot, steel will be slightly larger.
it's all non lead now, bismuth is more reasonable, almost as heavy as lead. but steel shot works, but has shorter range, practice at hitting clays.

Yeah 12 gauge.. shotgun doesn't really obliterate them unless you're super close, but the real issue with shotgunning bunnies are the #6 steel pellets that get buried in the meat. So head shots are preferred but it doesn't always work that way. I'd rather use my rimfires but my spots have gotten overgrown so a shotgun is my best bet right now.

Make sure you wear masks and gloves fellas...them bunnys carry some shit!! Gross!!!

Got out right before sunrise and had 5 in my vest by 6am. What a beautiful sunny morning in the hills. Saw quite a few trucks out.. surprising to see how popular rabbit opener's gotten. Fun times.

Forgive my ignorance, but I thought that it was safest to wait until after the 1st frost to kill off bacteria or something? Folklore?
