Nice when you can do that. Many years ago I had access to a ranch up near Gorman. One Christmas eve I went there to quail hunt. On the way, I stopped at Quail Lake and put an 8-pound striped bass in the ice chest. I then went up to this ranch and decided to check the small 100 foot in diameter pond on the property first. I jumped about 100 ducks off of it and bagged a mallard and a pintail after the smoke had cleared. After that, I went quail hunting for a few hours and managed to get 8 quail. I was back home in time for Christmas eve dinner.
