Good stuff man congrats! Did that bird happen to come in from the south chasing a couple hens? We got outsmarted by a gobbler in the same area that put himself between us and the road, never giving us a shot. He end up chasing some hens towards the north and got himself shot just a few minutes later. I wonder if that was the same bird that was toying with us this morning haha
Gotcha. I definitely heard your shot further away after those two shots that were closer to us so I think you’re right on the money. Those birds there seem super keyed up to hunters so even more props to you for sweet talking that guy off private. Congrats again man!I called this guy off the private to the North. He was a solo “super” Jake with no hens as far as I could tell. He came in like a Tom so I treated him accordingly. I had heard 2 shots to the South of me prior to taking him. So I was concerned with the amount of other hunters and activity in the area so I happily took him when I could. Possibly sounds like your bird was the one that got whacked in between us?
Glad you got some action this morning it was looking a little slow when I went to work. come back later this year and see if you can get his older btother or try for him next year. I hope you had some funLove the drive home in the Frunk of the Tesla! Strong work @Turtle !
Had this big Jake come into the dekes 3 times this morning. I took a pass on him but he definitely had a death wish. If he gets through the season, he will be a whopper next year! I did get some outstanding video of him and his buddies.
