TURKEYS

So I went out yesterday to do some deer scouting in the cooler temps, and noticed a bunch of turkeys, and the one thing that came to my attention was out of a group of 25 birds not one poult. Did see a bunch of deer, but no young turkeys. Is anybody seeing any poults, or whats the deal.

As you're aware, I'm out all the time and I haven't seen 20 poults….Very disappointing....The poults I am seeing are almost as big as their mothers.

Did get this pic from a friend....Hoping they're just spread out.

Same deal here... was up in Palomar a couple weeks back with @DanSanDiego and we saw a hen group with bigger poults. I haven't seen too many honestly.

I have been seeing them around here. A good group of 1 year old Jake's too. Might be shooting them off the porch next year.

Finally saw a couple small poults with a young Jenny.

Sorry for the poor cell photo. The poults are only 6" tall, one is just behind the Jenny.

I've seen a few lately....Not a lot of recruitment, but some....Most poults are almost as big as their mothers.

I have seen 3 dead poults on the road close to the house in the last 2 weeks. My hope is that just means we had a great hatch this year and it is just a numbers thing.
