Never hunted a day in my life

I have a 'friend' that just started hunting last year. He wanted to know of a good place to hunt so I suggested a few places out by him. Never went but waited for me to take him. Sort of like giving him the magic spot...... and I'm just not going to give it up because he's put zero effort into...

What bow do you guys recommend

I bought my first bow from Bass Pro a little over two years ago so let me tell you what I learned. The guys there have no more time for you than to sell you a bow, arrows and set up a draw length. Bass Pro isn't employing enough people so you can have quality one on one. Go to an independent...

    D16 Goes Premium

Bump I'm having a hard time understanding the regs for D16, was wondering if anyone could help clarify. If D16 didn't sell out , I can buy this over the counter? I already have an AO tag but I'm confused wether it's any good for D16. thanks in advance,

First time deer hunt need advice

Once each day. I retrieved the camera to view the pics then reset it. The only additional prints each time were my boot prints. Is checking the camera once a day too often?

First time deer hunt need advice

After the last rain the other week it seemed the deer were out around my area, fresh tracks abound, so I set up my camera to try to catch a pattern of movement. As the rest of the week went by it was obvious the deer had moved on. Was it the rain that brought the deer down to a lower elevation...

    SD Quail Counts/Scouting?

Opening day was a minute success for me. I know there were plenty of birds at my usual spot but there were already plenty of hunters in that area. I hunted the other side of the road which is full of various cacti and the dog suffered a bit. But the old dog and I prevailed! Wish I would have...

    Big Snake

Haven't tanned it yet. Still sitting on my workbench. I'm procrastinating for a simple method and so far it seems a chemical concoction bought online may be the best. Any suggestions?

    Recent storms

Anyone know if the recent storms have pushed the birds away from Imperial Valley? I don't normally go there but would like to keep the option open.

good place to get a bow

Faith Armory. I wish I had the option before I bought at Bass Pro. I bought a "Ready to Hunt" bow my first time and wish I had bought somewhere a little more personal. Bass Pro wasn't bad to me but not close(you what I mean, neighbor) and wanting to quickly move to the next customer.

    Scary moment Sunday eve

I hope your dog recovers quickly. That really sucks. I've seen good pits and bad and overall I'd have to say they're a screwed up breed. Wouldn't own one.

    Big Snake

I tried different ways and was hoping the meat would fall off the bone. I needed to scrape the meat off with my teeth. Could I have cooked it longer?
