    My back yard

Well if I shoot to the right [in the picture] it is all 'open space' so there is more then 150 yards, but I don't have the "circular" clearance, or do I only need it in then the direction I would be shoot [with a bow]? Either way, I may use this as an opportunity to meet the neighbors since I...

    My back yard

Sometimes living in Ramona can be really cool. I heard some "noise" out back and sure enough there are at least 10 turkeys hanging out in my back yard. But I can't help but wonder, could I invite one to dinner from my own back yard or are there still rules that I am just not seeing?

    San Diego public land pigs!

nice pigs. Wish I could get lost and stumble into something like that. And I hope you are right about this becoming common place in the near future.

    bow mounted range finder

Anyone have any experience with a bow [or gun] mounted range finder? Friend of mine sent me this link, and I am really considering it. http://www.woot.com/plus/leupold-leupold-leupold

    Interesting start to the morning.

Yes I live in the Estates and I had heard similar things about how tough deer can be. I checked out my car more when I got home and it seems like it bounced all the way down the passenger side. There are scratches all the way down and the rear passenger door has a good sized dent in it. And...

    Interesting start to the morning.

LOL. I was just talkin about that with a guy at work. But hopefully he lived and will become a nice shooter worthy size in the next year or two.

    Interesting start to the morning.

On my way in to the office this morning I hit a small [maybe 3 foot tall] deer. I live in Ramona and drive Wildcat Canyon to get to the 67 each morning. I was following 2 other bigger vehicles [F150 size trucks] with maybe 4 or 5 car lengths between us. Just before we got to the Tribal...

Who wants to go Spear Fishing with me?

I haven't been in the water in a while, so I'm sure I would have to relearn the craft, but I would be up for going

    Snake I.D. Please

I saw a couple of horny toads two weeks ago on Palomar. So it seems they are across the county which is nice to know.

    Rabbit seasons 52 days away

I used to hunt them years ago with my single shot 12 gauge and my buddies .22. I cleaned em but turned them over to my buddy for prep for the grill. But now I think I am going to try to get out there with my bow. If there is an outing planned I would be all for joining in on the carnage.

    Karma pics!

wow those are just crazy. I didn't think about walking around in the snow either. But that truck/camper/blind setup is pretty sweet, looks like something for the Midwest, just roll the truck to the edge of the field and hang out for the week.

    feral hog question

I am not trying to get secret honey hole locations or anything like that. Just some basic understanding about the behavior I have seen recently. So I have asked around a few times here on the boards and ask the guys at Bow N Arrow and was told the local hogs like the lower altitudes [at or...

WTH happened to all the turkeys?!

I have seen 3 or 4 good size toms the last couple of weekends and probably 20 to 30 hens [and probably some jakes] but they have all been on private land. I have seen some tracks, but small ones on some of the trails I have been using but no sign of turkeys in area where I could shoot em.
