    Took this pics in D16

I had heard in the spring that there were two young bears relocated but DFW swears they we relocated in the San Bernardino national forest. Even if that’s true they’d have to hoof it past Anza through high desert along the 79 to palomar. I guess it’s not impossible. We all thought up there that...

It’s a young bear that’s been pestering people on the mountain for trash and whatever else is left out, since early in the year.

    Well boys

Best of luck. I tried to sell my wife on Prescott az or southern Utah for a few years and she just doesn’t want to do it. We can afford to keep a home in both areas but she still wouldn’t go for it. Her family is here so it’s hard. It’s different for me because my family isn’t above ground...

    Blown Down Trees across trails

O theyll save a few black oaks above 5,000 feet but that pest has been raging up here 8 plus years now. Most every big black oak and a good number of live oaks in Will, Dyche and my area has been killed. It’s carnage. There really are no large black oaks left in dyche at all. The last few years...

    Blown Down Trees across trails

Honest answer: check with the forest service. The problem isn’t only cutting the trees which is substantial work but also getting it out. Most places they don’t want vehicles used, especially if they’ve “re-wilded’ a road or trail. The oak borer really did a number on us. There is some federal...

    Considering 410 turkey gun

I switched to a Benelli M2 20 gauge 3 years ago and haven’t found it lacking at all. It’s light, under 6 pounds and the recoil is much less than a 12. But I wouldn’t use less gun. The 410 is a stunt round that will string shot and shoots much less dense patterns. I think it’s asking for trouble.

    Dove

I think it as sept 2nd the day he passed. I remember a friend in the club calling me to tell me and it was about the most shocking news I can remember receiving. I never go a Labor Day without thinking about joel. I had only bought the cabin the year before. The biggest buck I’ve ever seen...

SCOTUS ruling on 2nd A and the State of Hawaii

I have a permit from OC and have for years. It all depends on what county you're in and I would imagine the process would remain with county sheriffs. The only thing that will nominally change is the removal of good cause statement as a gatekeeper. All of the objective criteria remain in place...

Palomar Mountain---never saw it this dry at this time of year.

Thanks! But I just learn what I’m interested about. That’s the best kind of learning.

Palomar Mountain---never saw it this dry at this time of year.

I saw that before. The problem is once you cut the wood what do you do with it? When it works a controlled burn is cheap. (They blew I with this one). Southern CAs last sawmill closed in the 1990s. Even then you have to pay to transport it there which now is a really expensive problem. So...

Palomar Mountain---never saw it this dry at this time of year.

PS. I also took a forestry class through UCSD extension this year and drought situation is dismal all through CA. There is a lot of debate currently about doing a lot more forest mgmt via controlled burns etc. vs doing nothing and letting nature take its course. Not sure what side will come out...

Palomar Mountain---never saw it this dry at this time of year.

I’ve been a MCC member for 14 years. I get a lot more out of it than just hunting since I’m walking distance to the spots you mentioned. I also like to hunt quail and mountain quail, pigeons etc. But There is no denying that the game has been decimated. No one has enough money to keep western...
