    Trail cam recommendation, around $100?

I’m with Sprig... I’d buy 3x of the $20-$30ish Wildgame Innovations equivalent cams rather than 1x $100 cam, especially if your putting them out on public. I have 3-4 of the wildgame cams and have found them to perform just as well as my more expensive bushnell cam. Plus at their price, if one...

My tiburon pants might be my single favorite piece of gear, so clutch for summer scouting or early season warm weather

5 Bar Beef (Orange County) does whole/half sides of beef. Not cheap but good quality meat.

San Diego / LA / SLO Butchers

I brought my WY antelope last season to Electric City Butcher in Santa Ana and was quite happy with the experience. They don't get a ton of wild game coming through the doors since they're in the OC but their head butcher is super knowledgeable and easy to work with. Quick turnaround and...

    Anybody using an inReach

Pulled the trigger on the mini today, been eyeballing it for awhile. Figure I'm saving enough money on gas while on quarantine to justify the purchase. Most of the time I'm out solo and I like the peace of mind of having a lifeline if things go south.

    IV Consolation Prize

Had some free time last weekend so I decided to head to the IV and chase some quail. Never did find the X, the only covey I spotted was in a posted field, but was happy to score some rabbits for the dinner table. Tried a riff on Hank Shaw’s cacciatore recipe tonight and it was definitely a crowd...

    Lion in oc, child hurt

Yup - I live a stone's throw from Whiting too. Most people forget California's last fatal lion attack was also at Whiting Ranch in 2004. Me and my wife used to hike there often until we ran into someone who had just spotted a lion in broad daylight on the trail a few years ago, now she won't go...

    Stolen Turkey Hunting Gear

Some POS got into my garage and made off with most of my turkey hunting gear among other things. Luckily all my high-dollar stuff was in the house but still sucks. I know its a long shot but if anyone happens to see someone trying to offload the following locally, please let me know: Alps...

San Felipe Wildlife Area Quail/Chukar Hunt 10.20

I got drawn for the Oct 20 hunt as well. I did this hunt last year so I have some info I will share in a PM. I wouldn't get your hopes too high though as last year's numbers of birds taken vs. hunter numbers was extremely low: 1-2 birds total for maybe 20-30 hunters. Hoping this years rains...
