    Practice makes... better..

My name's Randy. Hahaha just kidding, ya my name's James. Ya sometimes I pull an arrow from the bunch if I get a bad feeling about it too, then take it to the shop and ask their opinion, or put new fletchings on it. Right now, I'm still all practice tips. I don't think I'll put broad heads...

    Morning or Evening?

Last season, I shot a buck at grey light, another one right at sunset, and a doe at 9:30 am feeding in an open field. My brother also got his buck at 1:30 pm feeding out in the open. We watched his buck bed at sunrise, and it never moved from that area. It started feeding with a group of does...

    Practice makes... better..

After countless days of practice, tweaking pins, correcting posture, and mysterious arrows outside of the vitals, I finally shot my all-time best last week. 10 for 10 @ 60 yards. I finally trust my 60 yard pin. Practice definitely makes better

    Buck Fever

I took these pictures a couple years ago cruising through the Sierras. Complete buck overload. There were 3 coyotes surrounding them and howling at each other, but these bucks never moved an inch for 30+ minutes. I just stood there in amazement and snapped about 200 photos and videotaped them...

Recommended tree stands and ground blinds?

Ladder stand or climbing tree stand? In my experience, a ladder stand feels way safer. If you've never used a climbing stand, I would suggest going with someone who has the first few times. They can be pretty scary, and many things can go wrong. If that bottom piece slips off your feet or...

    Turkey Season Results

Im super curious as to how everyone did this turkey season. Who got one??? Public or private property? If you didn't get one, did you see any gobblers or come close to getting it done? Do you know anyone who got one? I'll start. I got one on public. My father also got one on public.

    San Vicente 4/18/19

Whacky rig with a skinny green senko was my hot ticket. The one with grey and black glitter. My buddy had another weightless rig with a brown plastic worm. The slow fall was key all morning. I got hit most of the time on the fall.

    San Vicente 4/18/19

The greatest thing that's happened this month is the birth of my baby daughter Ruby Pearl on April 6. She is so sweet! Went fishing at San Vicente on Thursday with my father in law, my buddy Joe, and of course my main man Archer. We got on the fish early and it was nonstop after we figured...
