I’m interested in what experience you’ve had using the funky chicken decoy.
I noticed the jakes I was going after yesterday seemed kind of leery of the full size jake decoy in my spread yesterday and wondered if a less threatening male decoy would be a good strategy.
The theory is that the turkeys will recognize the appearance of a jake but one that is extremely whimpy so even skittish jakes will think they can take him on and become more aggressive.
Plenty of people online say it works but I trust our local experts more than randos on Amazon.
I know a couple of guys tat have used them...They use other decoys with it...So, it's the same old, same old...Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't...I'll stick with Dave Smith's.........
I ordered one from camofire. We’ll see how it goes. I like the concept of using animal psychology to produce a decoy that doesn’t simply mimic reality but produces a specific behavioral response. I hope that pans out.
