It's official. Nobody knows how many are going to be killed because they are not really sure how many there are estimates are between 500 and 1500 animals. I don't know why they don't just open it up for Ca. hunters, and set a limit on how many can be taken. Hold on just a minute, that would make sense, and we know there is no common sense in Ca. DFG.

Ahh CA...it's designed to Hurt...where have we heard this before? I hate that state...just got back from there...thinning swine on the 2 acres... currently hosing the back of the Terminator out with simple green...so grross..

Classic ‘ole CA. I spoke with multi generational locals there last year and they weren’t happy about the potential eradication of the deer then because they hunt and eat the meat.

Oh, don’t give the free range organic meat to the homeless shelters or displaced veterans, give it to the condors.

“Some of the deer meat will go to feed endangered California condors on the mainland, while some carcasses will be left on the land — potential meals for bald eagles and foxes.”

Dude...no way they are harvesting the meat for anything....it's all for PR...it's CA...imagine what it would cost it they did that? Smoke and mirrors ..and remember 16ers ..it's designed to hurt...nothing new here ..next..

I sent my emails and made my voice heard. Doesn’t seem like they were really interested in considering alternatives….
I did that the first time around and again now making the case that the herd is a valuable resource in the uncertain times of cwd. Got a form response that we considered their proposal and approved it based on the science...

The only thing that will stop them now is a lawsuit

Get PITA on it or say Trump was behind it and the island would sink protesters

Yep, good old politics...Every time someone brings up politics on this site and others, guys scream, don't bring politics to a hunting site...And in there, lies the problem...We want to be left alone to hunt and fish...While the other side are making it harder and harder to do in this once "Golden State".........

The anti's, libs, tree huggers, climate change enthusiasts, PETA, HSUS, and dems are basically all the same...Well organized, lawyered up, and ruthless...If you vote for any democrat, this is the kind of bull $hit we will have to deal with........

Newsom just appointed a woman (democrat) to the position of Director of Fish and Wildlife...Her former job/position was Deputy Secretary of Biodiversity and Habitat at the California Natural Resources Agency...This should work out great for us hunters and fisherman.......:poop:

Oh, and we're going to continue losing, because we don't want to talk politics!........................

Every time I go to the library and take a big dump I think about Sucramento. How's that for politics. I hate politicians and politics.

Here's her complete bio...Oh, and making over 200 grand..........:angery:

That’s California for you unfortunately. Where up is down, where wrong is right, where criminals get rewarded and good folks get punished. No wonder half of you on this site no longer live here.

It feels like a no win fight, but look at what happened when weiner (d) tried to get bear hunting banned a few years back. Hunters fought back and we got that squashed. Its worth fighting ALWAYS

I thought the Catalina deer issue stood a better chance as it wasn’t just hunters who didn’t want them killed. For once peta and other animal extremists had a common goal. We both lost this one
