I have been wanting this caliber for awhile, reading tons of reviews and rifle comparisons and finally went with the Ruger Predator in 6.5 creed. Every rifle I looked at had good reviews but the shear number of reviews on this rifle along with all the comparison reviews made it seem like a solid choice. The only thing that all the reviews seemed to find negative was the rotary mag it comes with. I found that they make a model that accepts AI magazines instead of the rotary but took some hunting to locate one, which I had no luck finding at first. I was at Turners yesterday and had them check if they could find one and was able to locate one and I put it on order. They had a model that comes with a vortex scope for a pretty good discount buying as a combo but on the optics side seemed like Leupold was like the rifle with just the number of reviews it received, not that the other brands had bad reviews. This should be a fun first build. I think I will start looking into some upgrades for it that will carry into the chassis system later like trigger, muzzle brake, optics, bipod. I am new to chassis systems so not all sure yet what mfgs to look at and whats going to be involved part wise.
I am about three weeks out for delivery, and then another 10 days but hopefully will be able to get it out on the range by mid January. There is nothing but indoor ranges around me, any good gun ranges around for sighting in or better to head to the BLM shooting areas to sight in and practice distance?
