My brother passed away last Friday. I was on emergency leave and was able to spend his last minutes with him. After leaving him in Colorado I went on to spend family time and morn with my parents in Kansas. I know with all this quarantine stuff I was pushing it but I needed closure and decomposing.
Since I left in a hurry I didn’t have my bow or anything to hunt. I hadn’t even considered it because of family time. My wife said fill the freezer so I got the green light to get my tags and my buddy had a cross bow.
Two days of cat and mouse ended up pretty good with me taking one Tom at 0730, 21#, 8” beard and 7/8” spurs. On my way back to Mom’s I see another flock that I knew how to get ahead of. I sat up on them and filled my 2nd tag at 0945 with a 20.5#, 9 1/2” beard and 3/4” spurs.
Headed back to Cali on Friday with fresh meat and canned goods from Mom.
