If you saw my comment in the "Tejon Ranch upland email offer - looks pretty good" post, while doing some research on the former name of the High Desert Hunt Club I did a search on Rancho La Liebre and the old American Sportsman's Club. I found this article from 1998 about the neighbors complaining about the planted bird hunts there, it was already going by the High Desert Hunt Club then. It's a typical LA Times article, with overexaggeration such as..."Neighbors say the constant explosion of shotguns can be heard reverberating up the mountainside and echoing off canyon walls." explosion of shotguns? LMAO! Anyway, I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but I thought it was interesting and somewhat amusing. I guess, apparently, the local residents weren't successful in shutting it down since they're still having hunts there. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1998-jul-05-me-1019-story.html

Man I love this stuff. Reminds me of an old article in the reader back in the day about the hunting history of San Diego. I’m starting to think SCH needs a history category
