Add in the 3.5 payload gives you a better advantage at strategically pass shooting at a higher range, screw them guys in other blinds it passes by I'm shooting
A 3 1/2 inch shell with an 1 1/2 oz of #2’s has 187 pellets, for comparison, a 16 gauge loaded with #4 shot has 180 pellets. I saw Fiocchi has 3 1/2 inch shells loaded with 1 5/8 oz of #2’s. Do you think 2 shot is a poor choice for ducks even if you go up to 3 1/2 inch shells with 1 1/2 oz or more of shot? It seems like you’d have plenty of pellets, but I’ve never done it.
I used a Carlson modified choke. It’s the same choke I’ve been using for a decade.
I don't ever shoot 3 1/2" for ducks. Not necessary IMO.It says steel lead.

I shoot a Benelli M2. I’m curious. Do many of you guys shoot 3.5” loads for ducks?
Only because it was all I could find.. I prefer 3" Kent Fasteel #3s but because of the shortage last year I bought a case of 3.5". BooooWell up to today i though you guys were just kidding about guys shooting 3 1/2's at ducks.
so lets see a roll call, how many of you guys shoot the big stuff at poor daffy...
3" #3 Fasteel a very legit load for sure, that will hammer them inside the dec spreadOnly because it was all I could find.. I prefer 3" Kent Fasteel #3s but because of the shortage last year I bought a case of 3.5". Boooo
Restricting the refuges to a 20ga and shots in the decoys only is a bit excessive. Just because some guys shouldn’t be shooting deer at 400 yards, doesn’t mean we should be out patrolling the forest and stopping the guys who are skilled enough to do so.I guess in the end what differnce does it make. Dead duck is a dead duck. I'm very lucky at the country club sky busting is not a problem and lack of Etiquette will just get your decoys run over, so everyone behaves.
Hypothetical... If the refuges went to 20ga and you can only shoot birds in the decoys with the enforcement to make it happen. Would your experience there better?
