Despite having a bad cold, I braved the elements at dark thirty to scout for the upcoming youth hunts...lol...Pleasantly surprise on the amount of longs, but totally bummed on how few jakes I'm seeing....Before I left the high country, it started raining again....More snow Friday and next Monday....OK, we've had enough....lol

Couple of trail cam pix too.

ps....Sorry for the crappy pix....Forgot my good camera.

Great pics anyway Steve. Went out on Friday of last week saw a nice flock of 15 and it had a few jakes in it. Saw a little sign in a different area too. Can’t wait!

Quick question: If I’m camping out the night before season opens (with a CNF free dispersed camping permit) can I put decoys out at sunset on Friday 3/29?
I don’t want to be accused of hunting before the season so I’m planning to set up at 4am. But I’m thinking that if I get my decoys out early then there is less likelihood of someone else setting up next to me.

Dan,

Great question...Here's the short answer...There's no law that says you can't have decoys out...This is always comes up with duck hunters...It also means, if some guy gets there and doesn't care if you have decoys out or not....Then there's nothing you can do about that either.
