D16 report

Matt,

Have your buddy send her on a nice trip or spa day.. then put the hurt on those birds. She won't notice a few missing from the flock.

Have not tried that but he is dead set on letting the turkey be. Funny how people don’t know how those turkey came to be in their yards.

When out this evening hiked 1/2 mile in up high. Sat and glassed until dark.
Wind was blowing east to west , 20-30 miles per hour. All I saw was a fast moving mangy coyote. No deer spotted. But an excellent area. Lots of
Good feeding areas and bedding.
Try again in the morning.

Good luck!

Took a break yesterday. Still not 100%
I can't believe it's November already.
Drought is bad out here. Setup a water hole for the wildlife. Water troughs
For the birds. Squirrels are all most all gone. Gathered up some local pacific
Oak acorns to plant on the property.
Will wait for the rain and snow.
Reading the DFW deer herd statistics
D16 zone in 2017 population was 7000
In 2017. Doesn't make sense.
3000 general tags,1000 A22 tags, 300 G13 tags. Add up the numbers.
I suspect most of the deer are on private.

Tag numbers are adjusted for the amount of harvested deer in relation to the overall herd size, not just the herd size. Those 3000 tags convert to only 2-300 deer taken every year. There are plenty of deer on public.
