Spent 3 days this week in the preserve getting ready for this hunt...3" of rain yesterday didn't help...Every stream, creek, and gully is flowing hard...Today was a little better, but still too deep, fast, and wide to try and get kids across.

One more assessment tomorrow and it's go time on Saturday...Goodly amount of birds with some separation and dispersal starting... :blush:

I hate water...uggh..good luck stevo .I miss the early junior hunts..those were the days..

A little rough for me, heard one short gobble in grey light that was on private.......so we hiked in to THE spot and nothing anywhere not even on private no talking at all only one track a one day old mature Tom track in a mud puddle, it was so clear you could tell his spur was curved.

Well it can't get any worse tomorrow!

we started off our day with a few birds working around us. Finally got the interest of a few old long beards. They put on a show down below us throwing out a few gobbles here and there, but never really got with the program………………
