    Turkeys everywhere.....

Got my first turkey this weekend. Scored a second bird too. Didn’t see a single deer though. Good thing o was carrying the shotgun in my pack. I forgot to take a field pic of the second one. Here’s the pic of her that matters though. I was roaming alone. Thanksgiving is covered! Sent from my...

    Trail Cam Stolen

Hunting Laguna. Same spot I always hunt, many of you know where it is. Opening day I get to my stand and notice my trail cam missing. Had a large cable lock on it. At least they didn’t steal my tree stand. If any of you see a stealth cam camera with tree bark glued to it, let me know. I do have...

    D16 Filled

Today was my last day and it didn’t disappoint. Saw three bucks and four does. Only got a shot at this guy 20 mins before dark. Put in a lot of miles today and had to drag him out alone for over a mile....uphill the whole way. He better taste good. Barely legal but the freezer is filled. A22 and...

    A22 Tag filled today

Saw her coming in at 0649 hours, at 80 yards. She was walking parallel to me, on a trail. I grunted at her and she turned toward me. She was quartering toward me at 10 yards. Hit her. She trotted about 30 yards to a bush, hunched her back and stumbled a bit. Walked another 10 yards away, never...

    Scrapes and mock scrapes.

I have these two big scrapes with licking branches, about 50 yards from my tree stand. Always seem to be freshly used but haven't seen any bucks while in the stand...yet. Anyone ever make a mock scrape and have success? If so, use scents? What kind? Or should I just stay patient and hope he...

    Tree Stand Stolen Again

Found my ladder stand had been taken apart and they took two sections of my ladder. Left the top because I had a good cable lock on it. Apparently you can't buy the ladders sections seperately either. Now I have a useless half of a two man ladder stand. Another great part about hunting Mt...

When does the rut start in D-16?

Been seeing some small bucks running with groups of does. Had a nice 3x3 snorting at me when I was blowing my grunt call. Anyone else seeing early activity?

    First SoCal Buck

Walked up on a group of 5 doe and 3 bucks. He was the biggest and stood 20 yards from me. I shot him and he ran 50 yards. Drug him out for a mile and some fellow hunters helped me with the second mile. Great hunt!

    Stolen Tree Stand

I went to Mt. Laguna this morning to hunt and my tree stand was missing. Someone walked up wooded hill and cut the cable am took everything. Anyone know of anyone the just got a "new" tree stand? It was a fixed stand and a sectional ladder. Had a nice set of ratchets too. Gotta love the honesty...

    Hunting Mt. Laguna

Wooded hill has been crowded. Saw some big bucks on the private land too but can't figure out how to get to them.
