    IV Dove Question

I probably don't need to say it, but, also stay out if... The field is fenced, freshly planted or being irrigated. Unless you own the land, you/we are a guest on it. Please respect it as such. Each year I've seen more and more posted land. I've hunted the I.V. and Palo Verde Valley since the...

    Metal detector for steel pellets

I bought one from a woodworkers supply catalog for finding metal in the salvaged wood I sometimes used on a project. It was called a 'Little Wizard' and worked when I experimented with steel shot in dove breasts. Don't remember which supply house or the cost, It was a lot of years ago.

    5 weeks since new hip..

I went the cheap way...Camoed a walker, an extended reach stick for picking up birds, a set of ties for a gun mount and had some fun. I told the doctor and he wasn't happy about it, I was and proud of it.

Hang on guys our guns are in the msm Bull Shit machine.....

IMHO what needs to be looked at is the system in which the 'shooters' developed. When I was growing up if I screwed up I was held accountable. In the classroom it could mean anything from a rap on the knuckles, an ear jerked half off my head or a trip to the office for a swat , Then when I got...

Be sure to apply sunscreen before going out into the boonies, or this will happen to you....

doc, I am to start the same thing for all my years of 'no protection'. My doctor just froze another 15 spots on my arms and when healed I am to start the chemical peel on arms, forehead, scalp and chest. My question is on the scalp do you need to cut off all the hair, as my guy suggested, or...

    Surgery thursday

I did ask for the parts...they wouldn't give me the actual bones, but when I asked for the metal parts on the repair I got and still have them. Impressive bit of machine work. You might set off metal detectors and get the wand search as I do at court houses and such. My best PT was needing to...

    Surgery thursday

Ask lots of questions. I accepted the answer, "cookie cutter procedure", 96% success, ect... My new socket shifted a little and it kinda felt like a trailer hitch with the wrong size ball. They had to wait 6-7 weeks to go back in and fix it, warning me healing would be a little slower. Never...

    Upland game 12g shotgun

Except for my sxs muzzleloader I was shooting 12 ga. Brownings, a BPS and Auto 5. I started looking for an O/U and sholdered several. I stopped when I came to the Stevens 555 in a 12. It was a lot lighter than my Brownies and fit well. My long winded point being, I bought a 555 and not only...

    Coot Weekend at San J!

I think in the 60s my dad went to one of the late season coot depredation shoots and BBQ afterwards at wister. He remarked the wister personnel did a pretty good job on the meal.

    Rough and tough

When I look at the picture I see hard work to get there and good shootin to get er done. Question, does that hitch ever bark the shins? Mine use to kill mine. I lost that thing in a ditch in the I.V.

    Salton Sea Blinds and Seats

I spent a lot of time in the North area of the sea where the Whitewater River terminates at the sea. Off to one side was/is a row of dead trees I use to hunt at the end of. Firm bottom and hip boot deep. I had some good shoots out of there until some agency trenched the access so deep I finally...

    National Forest closures

I may be going against popular opinion but...... I don't believe in closing land to lawful pursuits, unless there is a really good reason. I'm not and don't pretend to be an expert on fires and fuels. It seems to me that the states fire fighting resources are stretched pretty thin at present and...
