My son shot his buck last year in X9A. We drew X9B/A17 archery as our 2nd choice. Looking for some areas that would be good to start looking. No 4wd truck and no quads so we will have to walk in somewhere. Thanks

Anyone have any thoughts on hunting A17? We scouted last weekend and didnt see a lot of deer. Thanks

We arrived at the campground late Friday afternoon and set up out tents. Opening morning we parked at the base of the mountain and started glassing at first light. Guys were already hiking in and a vehicle was parked every 200-300 yards apart. Some clowns drive up in a car and park 10 yards...

Leaving Friday for this hunt. My friend will be up there tomorrow to scout and hopefully have a buck picked out for us for Saturday. We will mostly likely be hunting the west side of 395..

We were going to pack in but now I think we will just tent camp it then hike in in the dark. Never hunted the area only fished it....

Thanks everyone were getting a little excited to get up there. I dont know if I am going to get a scouting trip by then do to work. We have two areas to look at. He does not want to hold out for a huge buck he says he may shoot the first legal buck so we will see how it goes. Thanks

Well we made it back from the hunt. What a great hunt it was with plenty of opportunity to shoot a buck and I mean big bucks! This is an excellent hunt if you can draw it. After a 9 1/2 hour drive from LA area we arrived 2 days prior. We saw lots of deer and I got some great pics and video...
