We were blasting at them all day, was not for lack of birds. This one took three shots to bring down right before shoot time ended.
The Huntstang does not always get me in, but she gets me in range.
sprig are great. Talked to a guy from NorCal and CWA is pushing hard for a 3 penny limit next year. 2 bull 1 hen. Hoping to get at least a 2 bird limit next season.
This mustang has been off road more than 90% of the shiny trucks on the OC freeways.
Duude... I'm behind TrapLine on the way in. At certain point, starting to see a teensy bit of unintended roost comin up off his RHS back tire. From MotoX experience I already knew he'd Eff'd up... next thing ya know this mud rut is yankin him in over to the side of the road! I'm like "We are soo f@cked..." and quickly made sure to veer even more to the high side of that road. Both our floorboards are toast n gonna require some extensive cleaning, Ha!
Dude comes along w tow strap. What a pain in the Ass! I'm over here flat-trackin the backend of the F150 a lil bit and steerin into it.. musta took like 100yds of pullin him w him in Reverse to help before his damn front tire finally stopped acting like a big ol mud scoop!

Finally! After bustin shots all day and punishing my middle knuckle, manage to send this guy gloriously plummeting from redonkulously high up in the air! 1st shot, not sure.. he changes direction. 2nd shot, pretty sure he's hit but going down slowly maybe? Forget that! #3 to make sure its right now! I'm all actin like a contortionist to make #2, and #3... barrel ripping thru brush in its way HaHA!
EDIT: I gotta give a BIG ShoutOut to TrapLine! With no dog and him the only one with waders, he was our fetcher! And while graciously extracting this lawn dart from the quagmire... his footing had a minor bobble and he had to dab his hand into the muck for balance. But he did catch himself! Again, thank you for extending the offer to join on this adventure!
And ooh lawdy! Some of this small little wood ducks? MAN!! Them things are like missiles! Like even faster than Quail!~

Didnt make it in time to pick them up, stopped for a Coyote hunt on the surrounding BLM land to use up last light on the way out there.
I would take my car apart and pack it out before I let dog pull me out....
