First time entering the draw for me, if this is what it feels like every year then I've been missing out!
Just went for G13 and got it. With my limited time in the field (only deer hunted twice last season) I figure if I don't find the buck I want I'll pull the trigger on a tasty doe if I'm running out of time. I'll be bumping elbows with the rest of you on 2 Aug 0800 to grab my forky tag.. I mean D16 tag.
That must be true. Put in 6 days hiking and glassing in '17. Saw lots of sheep, a ton of burros and a few yotes but no mulies. Stoked to try again this season!

D12 is an addiction, the outcome of a successful hunt is very rewarding. Good Luck to all hunters

D17 for me. Any pointers? I have a buddy who chukar hunts in the area and has seen a lot of deer. Going to go with his pointers for scouting. Any more would be cool...thanks. lol.
Rad, enjoy. There was a point when I hunted that zone 3 times in 5 year, but you could also draw it with 2 points then. We got lucky in the random one of those years as well.
Trapline headed to the 12, went all in and didn't even make a 2nd or 3rd choice. Getting thirsty just thinking about it. Will pick up an AO also.
Well my bow arm has torn elbow tendons. May have to see how it goes in the future.. ugggg

Quite the contrary.... we have tons of sporks too!
In all honesty though, in my eyes our Southern mule deer are the equivalent in the mule deer world of what the Coues deer is in the whitetail world. Expectations should be adjusted accordingly.
Lee @BBH got his letter and he ordered his crossbow today. Real easy process.
It’s just genetically what they are. But it is pretty funny to watch people’s hopes and dreams shattered when they realize what the average buck down here looks like lol.
