Amazing how some of these topics morph into something that has nothing to do with original topic. In the words a not quit so famous person, Rodney King, "can't we all just get along"
Haha... GDL.. that reminds me of the entry I made for a friends "Dead-Cookie Party", where you pick a celebrity who recently past away (it was '13), and you make a cookie decorated in some way that has something to do with them, and you write a blurb about their life and read it out loud at the event. That particular year I chose... Rodney King! And at the party, I told of how I had to drive my (then) mother-in-law back to just 2 blocks away from where that whole riot started off at! Lemme tell you, I saw some shit that day!
You remember those Gas Stations where they had a Cashier booth like a little Fotomat hut in the center of the pump islands?
Yeah... well... we're rollin' down Rosecrans Ave... and besides the window of absolutely EVERY liquor store being bashed-in... we pass by this Gas Station... and I look over.. and that Whole Structure was cracked off its foundation and over on its side!!!
Apparently somebody maybe hooked it up to a tow truck and yanked it off to get at the safe!
Man.. just soo much crazy shit I saw that day. I drove the whole way right down that center passing lane in the middle of the Ave, because there were all these young BG Crips throwin' up signs at the corners that met up with Rosecrans as we drove along. I remember thinking I am glad I'm in a car surrounded by Latinos. That area was never anything you'd consider "good"... but on that day it was crazy.
