I am looking for a new used bow and I have a guy at work that has Mathews Switchback for sale that is a few years old. Do any of you out there have any pros or cons to this particular bow? Let me know.
Thanks,
Larry C.
Today was the hog butchering class and it was a great time. As soon as we got there we were on a mission to find a pig Doug shot that morning for the class. We had 20 people attend the class and it was very hands on. He had a 200 pound pig hanging when we got there and we all took time gutting...
I agree, Bruce and Jim are great to deal with. I shoot a Fred Bear bow and they treat me great everytime I go in there to upgrade something on my bow. I would highly reccomend them to anyone interested in starting out in archery or someone who has been hunting for years.
That was some great shooting! I understand that the hogs are causing damage to the fields for the farmers and ranchers and I dont have a problem with the way the hogs are being killed. I would just like the meat to go to something / someone other than just going to waste.
Just my opinion.

Are there any advantages over one bow or the other? I hear that you need to repalce the limbs on the Mathews if you do a lot of shooting, is there any thruth to this? Each of the bows put up huge numbers in the FPS speeds. Does it just come down to name brands? I am sure BowTech and Mathews are...
The archery area is 600 acres that is fenced in and has alot of areas for the pigs to hide. It was my first time to the area and learned a lot as you said Jeff. I will hunt the area a bit different, I learned where the pigs were on the last day when I was hunting with Mike. I was able to take a...
The SCH crew went to Hogs WIld on our first group hunt. We saw several pigs the first day we got there but all were pretty small somewhere between 30 and 50 pounds. On the second day I sat in an area for 11 1/2 half hours and was able to take a small 60 pound pig. I knew I was in a good area and...

We as hunters know that hunting for an animal is never a guaranteed thing and it does not matter what you are hunting with weather it be a rifle or a bow. It all comes down to personal preference and what weapon they like to hunt with. Thank you both for your points of view they have been great...
Another great episode last night, hunting East Texas for rams and javelina. I liked the Javelina hunting part in the canyon. It makes me want o go to Arizona and hunt them again. He was hunting a tough environment for tough animals.
Jim and John nicely put. Thank you both for taking to time to put your thoughts on the site. It is great to see the passion you both have for the sport. You need to develope your skills as a hunter no matter what type of weapon you hunt with either a rifle or a bow. Poeple are going to be...
I have shot it several times and it is a great shoot. If you do not intend on keeping score you can probably use your range finder. I am sure you can give them a call and ask the question though. I will get back with you later in the week, hopfully we can get a big turn out from the members on...
