A buddy and I went out this morning Turkey hunting up in Descanso and didn't get a single yelp or gobble back at us, we will be trying most of next week to get our first bird, then hopefully our wives will stop mocking us... signed "The great white hunter"
Ok so here it goes, this morning I got up well before anybody sane should be getting up 3:20 AM picked up my buddy Jason and drove up to Guatay to meet the master Coyote slayer Rob Wagner. We chose to go out towards Boulevard for our hunt. We got there and it was still very dark and a little...
I have been working on building a pig/deer hunting load for my new Tikka T3 I decide to use Barnes TTSX bullets for this load with the recommended Varget Powder I ran tests from 42 gr. going a half a grain per step up to 44 grains. The results are seen in the photo. This is at 100 yards and the...
Can you guys keep an eye out for any online or local stores selling Varget powder I am looking to buy a Keg if possible. Just post here if you see any, much appreciated
I am looking to make some loads with Varget powder but I have none myself. I do have 1 lb. of each brand ( IMR XBR , Hodgdon BL-C(2) and handgun powder Accurate No.7 ) if anybody is willing to trade some Varget for either powder I have. PM me if you have any to trade
I just found this on Midway USA's reviews of the Barnes TSX bullet: I load the 168gr Barnes TTSX for my Tikka T3 in .308win. with excellent results. Due to the magazine dimensions of the T3 I was unable to load the rounds to the overall length that I wanted.
I was able to obtain 1/4 minute...
So I am just starting to build a hunting load for my new tikka T3 .308 I took the gun to P2K the other day to sight in and test my new rounds. I had some target loads built already using some nosler 168 HPBT loaded with 42.5 gr. of IMR 8208 XBR powder CCI 200 primers, OAL 2.800 which shot very...
I'm curious what people out there who hunt a lot, use most. Weather it be your typical real tree type long sleeve shirt and pants or a military digital camo. Then there is the Ghillie suit type of set up that's light weight. I want to hear pros and cons of both and why you think your set up...
I already did read the laws on turkey and am confused because I am told you can use a mechanical device for turkey by "Invisible man" but the code says Electronic or mechanically operated calling or
calling or sound-reproducing devices are prohibited when attempting to take resident game bird...
When Is it legal to call in Turkeys with a mechanical device like a fox pro or hand caller (in San Diego) I was reading the regulations and it sounded like it was never legal...
So I am trying to figure out what backpack to use for hunting that would work equally for coyote /pig hunting and deer hunting. There are so many options its hard to choose, this would be for rifle hunting.
I have a .308 Redding 3 die competition set that has a crimping die in it. In what case would I be using the crimping die in addition to the seating die when making my rounds? I have made over 1000 rounds with only the seating die and never had any issues, am I missing a step then?
I'm curious what some of you experienced hunters might think of this scope for pig and deer hunting?

Has anybody ever had a 9mm bullet (or any bullet for that matter), come apart while it was being chambered from a semi automatic handgun? It happen to me the other night but I think that it might have missed the crimping process in my Dillon press, otherwise how could that even happen.
