LOCAL BUCKS

I just dropped it off at my friend Tony’s today to do a European mount and get it scored. Tony is an official measurer for CBH. He said from looking at it that it was too close to call if it will make book for a typical hybrid (80 inches) . I should know the green score in a day or so.
I took the 7 mag out last weekend and saw a really nice fork at 550 yards across the canyon. How come when I have my bow I can’t get closer than 100 yards and when I have my rifle I can’t get within 500. He gave me the slip.

Went out last night and hiked down a nice ridge we always been wanting to hunt. Didnt see a darn thing and had to plow our way through sticker bushes and took a stick in the eye! Typical local hunt.... :'(
There is nothing like a good stick in the eye to end a hunt early. Hope you're ok.

Going out? I never came back! I've hunted Mon. Tues. Thurs. Friday morn. and evening! Still haven't had a shot.

Have to work in the a.m. but hoping to get up on the mountain tomorrow night and Sunday. Time to start setting patterns.
Things are definitely taking a turn for the best. i saw 4 good bucks yesterday but the toad buck still alludes me. Back after him today. I'm obsessed with this one buck. Hate for some rifle hunter to get him (like my girls. They are licking their chops for the rifle opener to commence.)
